Hi! I'm Miles. Professional Squash Coach here at Shropshire Squash Club.
I've been involved in squash since the age of 12 when my school mates took me down for a game at th local club. I instantly became addicted to the athletic nature, skill and tactical attributes needed to succeed at the game. I started playing junior tournaments and reached a high of 9 in England in under 19 category. I went on to study sports science at the University of Birmingham for 3 years whilst pursuing my playing career and reaching a high of 163 on th PSA World rankings.
I grew a passion for coaching within this time and gained experience coaching at local clubs across Birmingham. I completed my England squash level 2 coaching qualification a few years ago. I am currently head coach at Nottingham Trent University where I have been for 18 months.
I've now taken up the head coach role at this club and am looking forward to helping people improve in any area they desire. Whether that be physically, technically or tactically I will gauge the sessions around the players needs. I believe my coaching style is very interactive, having discussions about tactical or technical difficulties and then trying to address these issues within the sessions to help match improvement. I cater for any ability and can do group, paired or individual sessions.
Shropshire Squash Club has a fantastic range of players of all ages and I’m absolutely thrilled to be the professional coach here.
So arrange a session with me! From the basics to highly advanced play, I promise you that you’ll not only notice a difference quickly but you’ll also enjoy every minute of it, whatever your goals.

As a professional school teacher, I thoroughly enjoy putting my experience into practice when working with juniors. It's all about encouragement and fun! I've played squash for more years than I probably care to admit but every game still highlights further strengths and weaknesses. This is one of the compelling parts of the game...
